MARQUETERIE PLANCHON

Born in 1962 son of a working forester, grandson and gréât grandson of a family of carpenters and joiners he grew up in an environment of woodworking and he made thé family workshop his playground.

At 16 years of âge he had qualified as an engineer-saw sharpener and had a diploma as a saw mills controller in his pocket , Christophe worked as a saw sharpener, then in a specialist saw sharpening works before becoming a trainer in this specialist fîeld.

At 26 years he again took up his studies and enrolled in thé faculty of arts in plastics formed by thé Fédération Compagnonnique de la Souterraine [dept 23] He obtained a diploma in cabinet making in 1991. While continuing to work in commerce he continued his éducation. Diploma as ébéniste 1993 . Full Diploma as Master Ebéniste in 1994 . Spécialiste Qualification in Marqueterie in 1995 .

In 1996 Christophe Planchon opened his own workshops in thé Creuse as a self employed marqueteur and restorer . Until 2002 he took part in numerous exhibitions ail over France as part of thé " Journées Internationales de Marqueterie Contemporaine " in Paris .

Then in 2002 he opened his marqueterie workshops in Monpazier.

Christophe Planchon produces time honoured traditions in his every création.
